About Headwater

An operator-led company, built to be accountable.

Headwater Cleaning exists because commercial cleaning has a trust problem — vague scopes, invisible supervision, and vendors you only hear from at renewal. We are building the alternative: big-company systems with local, name-and-number accountability.

Crosby Sampson

President & CEO

Crosby Sampson is a Minnesota native with a background in finance and corporate development. He founded Headwater Cleaning on a straightforward observation: the buildings that run best are served by companies that combine disciplined, big-company operating systems with the accountability of a local owner who answers the phone.

That is the company Headwater is being built to be. Every account gets a written scope, a named manager, and a documented inspection cadence — and every client gets a direct line to ownership, not a regional call center.

Headwater is headquartered in the Twin Cities and serves the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro, greater Minnesota, and western Wisconsin. We would rather be the most accountable cleaning company in one region than an anonymous one in fifty.

Our principles

What we run the company on

These aren't wall art. They are the standards we ask clients to hold us to.

Stewardship

We treat every building as if we held the keys to something entrusted to us — because we do. Budgets, access, and reputations are handled with the care of an owner, not a vendor.

People first

Cleaning is delivered by people, not contracts. We invest in training, fair treatment, and steady work — because a crew that is respected shows up, stays, and takes pride in the result.

Integrity & transparency

Written scopes, documented inspections, and honest conversations when something goes wrong. If we miss, you'll hear it from us first — with the fix already scheduled.

Long-term improvement

We commit to getting measurably better every quarter: tighter routes, better equipment, sharper training. The account you have in year two should be better run than the one you started with.

Our approach

Systems where it helps. People where it matters.

Corporate-grade infrastructure — documented scopes, QA scorecards, background checks, insurance, and clean payroll — paired with the things only a local operator can promise: a manager who knows your building, crews who stay on your account, and an owner you can call by name.

If that sounds like the vendor you wish you had, request a site walk — we’ll be there within 48 hours.
